教育: BARCH和BS, Ball State University, 1999; MA, Ball State University, 2003; MFA, University of Washington, 2008. At SPU since 2010.

扎克弯 has been teaching courses in photography, visual literacy, and video at 西雅图 Pacific 艺术中心 since 2010. In 2013 he collaborated with Professor Emeritus Roger Feldman to create a Photography/Digital Media major in Studio Art, which he currently oversees. He also contributes to the Film Studies major housed in the Communications Department through film production courses and senior project development.

扎克弯 was trained in architecture and environmental design at Ball State University. He went on to receive a master’s in studio art at Ball State, leading to his first academic position teaching photography and video art at Taylor University in Indiana. In 2006, he moved to 西雅图 to study at the University of Washington in the departments of Art and DXARTS. Since graduating in 2008, he has taught as a visiting instructor at organizations throughout 西雅图 including the Photographic Center Northwest, Cornish College of the Arts, and the University of Washington.

His art practice is interdisciplinary in approach, using photography, video, and installation to create mythic translations of his home, 他的家人, and the ephemera he collects. He has received grants from the 办公室 of Arts & Culture (西雅图), 4文化, The New Foundation and Artist Trust, with residencies through OxBow, 消防信号, and NEPO Travel Agency. His work is exhibited and screened nationally with recent exhibits at PDX Contemporary, Whitworth University, G. Gibson Gallery, Greg Kucera Gallery, and the University of Calgary.
